Authors & Booksellers - Terms and Conditions
- Booth Allocation and Setup - Each participating author or bookseller will be provided with one (1) 6-foot table and two (2) chairs. This allocation is fixed, and no additional tables or chairs will be provided. - Participants are responsible for bringing any additional display materials (e.g., tablecloths, book stands, signage) they may need to set up their booths. - Setup must be completed within the designated setup time. All participants are required to adhere to the setup and breakdown schedule provided by the event organizers.
- Space and Display - The provided table and chairs are the only space allocated to each participant. No additional space will be available, and participants are expected to keep their displays within the confines of their allocated area. - All displays and promotional materials must be arranged in a way that does not obstruct aisles or other participants' booths.
- Wi-Fi and Electricity - Wi-Fi and electricity will not be provided at the venue. Participants are encouraged to make alternative arrangements if they require internet access or power for their displays (e.g., portable chargers, mobile hotspots). - Battery-operated devices are recommended for any digital displays or payment systems.
- Sales and Transactions - Participants are responsible for handling all sales transactions, including managing their own cash and card payments. The event organizers are not liable for any financial transactions or discrepancies. - It is recommended that participants bring mobile payment options (e.g., Square, PayPal) as there will be no access to Wi-Fi or electricity at the venue.
- Liability and Insurance - Participants are responsible for their own property and merchandise. The event organizers and venue are not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to participants' property. - Participants must ensure that they have the necessary insurance coverage for their merchandise and equipment.
- Compliance with Venue Rules - Participants must comply with all venue rules and regulations, including but not limited to fire safety, health, and sanitation standards. - Any damage caused to the venue by a participant or their representatives will be the financial responsibility of the participant.
- Cancellations and Refunds If the event is canceled by the organizers due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will be notified as soon as possible, and any applicable refunds will be processed based on the specific situation.
- Marketing and Promotion - Participants are encouraged to promote their participation in the festival through their own marketing channels, including social media, email newsletters, and websites. - The event organizers will also promote the festival and may feature participating authors and booksellers in promotional materials. Participants agree to allow the use of their name, book titles, and business name in such promotions.
- Code of Conduct - All participants are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and treat other participants, attendees, and event staff with respect. - Any behavior deemed inappropriate by the event organizers may result in the removal of the participant from the event without a refund.
- Amendments The event organizers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to participants in advance of the event.
- By registering for and participating in the book festival, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
